Petra Ehrismann was born in Switzerland. After highschool she studied flute at the Conservatory of Winterthur (nowadays Zürcher Hochschule der Künste), where she graduated in 1996 with distinction.

She was busy as a chambermusician as well as in orchetras and worked nine years as a teacher at the Jugendmusikschule Winterthur.

 

Beside that she was busy developping her second instrument, the voice. She studied singing at the Conservatory of Amsterdam from 2001-2006 with Pierre Mak. She visited several masterclasses and many private lessons (till nowadays) with the famous Dutch teacher Margreet Honig. And she also works regularly with Sarah Castle in Manchester.

 

During the last few years Petra Ehrismann has become a many-sided singer in oratorio, as well as in musictheater. She is also member of the vocal quartet Quatre Bouches, which is well-known as an active and many-sided chambermusic ensemble. And she sings regularly with the Balthasar Neumann Chor in Germany with it’s chiefconductor Thomas Hengelbrock. Together with the baritone Michel Poels she founded Zangstudio Haarlem.
